Marek Moravec

I have worked in the tech industry for over 9 years – as an early hire, a managing director, and as a founder at multiple technology ventures in the Czech Republic, the UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Vietnam.

In 2018, I launched an early stage venture capital firm based in Prague called Nation 1 VC, and became one of the youngest VC founders in Europe.

Our aim is to invest in visionary founders with the goal of rewriting the rules of their field. I believe that entrepreneurs who start their ventures in the Czech Republic have the power to create valuable businesses that can compete on a global scale. The CE region, where companies can still operate at lower costs compared to other countries while maintaining access to an abundance of engineering talent, has great untapped potential. My focus is on venture stage investments across a number of technology sub-sectors, with a particular interest in financial services, travel, and marketplaces.

Since its incorporation, Nation 1 VC has already created an impressive portfolio of 14 technology companies which are now proving their value. We are proud to have the EIF as one of our key LPs.
