Scrum workshop: Learn agile in a fun way

Learn Agile in a Fun Way and Grow Your Career in IT!

What can help you build a car, plan your travel, code software, write a book, or even decorate your apartment?

If you work in tech (or spend any amount of time with engineers), you’ve probably heard about terms like “Scrum” or “Agile.” But what these terms actually mean and how to implement them in your day-to-day work? Scrum, an iterative and incremental Agile software development framework, is currently the most popular of the Agile practices—to the point where it is now considered conventional within the IT industry. This makes knowledge of Agile and Scrum crucial for anyone interested in building strong career in the IT.

Join us for a workshop on 21st of March, Thursday, in Design Lab CEMEX office on Smichov where we will demystify what Scrum is and how can it help you to be a better performer in each and every part of your life (yes, you’ve read this right - EACH!).

To experience Scrum, it is of high importance to deliver some sort of a product, work together as a team, and do several iterations. We will do a Scrum exercise on a real life example (fun time with LEGOs!) to give you an actual experience and help you understand how Scrum framework works. After the workshop, we guarantee, you will try to implement this process in and see how it works in your business, in your working place, in your design process or even when you are trying to lose some weight. And that is the point - it is easy to understand and applicable almost anywhere!

All of that will be provided to you by super experienced eye of Lusine Yeremyan, certified Scrum Master.

Don’t miss out to attend this workshop as this is a one time opportunity to get this type of relevant and valuable workshop! You will have an opportunity to ask Lusine any question related to Scrum, Agile and even more. Bring out your open mind and prepare yourself to awake your inner child because it is going to be a life changing experience!

Schedule:

  • 7:00 - 7:30 PM Meet & Greet

  • 7:30 - 9:30 PM Guided Workshop with LEGOs

  • 9:30 - 10:00 PM QA & Networking Time

Venue:

Plzeňská 3217/16, 150 00 Praha 5-Anděl, 4th floor

Femme Palette x Loono: Women’s Health

For one evening, let’s take a break from the hustle and stress, and focus on the most important thing, our health. In collaboration with Loono, we’re organizing a Women’s Health event! Through an interactive training you will learn about the importance of breast cancer prevention, warning signals of the body, and the best practices of breast self-examination to detect any potential threat before it spreads. We also mention the prevention of skin, colorectal, and cervical cancer.

We are proud to bring this event to you and create a safe and supportive environment where you can ask professionals about the intimate and important questions. We promise no scary statistics, but health and preventive care discussed in a supportive environment.

The hands-on workshop will be followed by an extended networking session, so you can meet other female professionals, make meaningful connections and have fun.

Loono is nonprofit that shows people the importance of prevention. Their team of young doctors, medical students, and other enthusiasts organizes educational workshops in schools, companies, and at festivals. Loono organized 750+ workshops and educated more than 40,000 people about the prevention and has 44 successful self-diagnoses.

Loono was started by a badass woman Katerina Vackova 4 years ago. Katerina was diagnosed with a malign ovarian cancer at the age of 22. Thanks to the fact she listened to the warning signals of her body, everything was detected in the early stage. As she has cured, Kateřina has decided to inspire other young people by her story. And so Loono was founded - to help people realize that the right time to take care of their health is now.

Let’s all stay healthy and learn how take care of ourselves together.

Femme Palette Networking: Women in Film

For the February networking event we have partnered with Girls in Film, a global network of female filmmakers, to share knowledge and insights into one of the most creative industries out there.

The event will be open with a short presentation by the head of Girls in Film in Prague Julie Zackova. After that there will be a panel talk led by two guest speakers: an award-winning Czech film producer Pavla Kubečková and a Prague-based American commercial director Jay Walker.

We will discuss various opportunities the film industry offers to female creatives and how to succeed as a woman in this (still) largely male-dominated industry. We will talk about the role of women in the industry and the great contributions female filmmakers made over the past decades. We will also discuss where to look for funding and sponsorships for your productions and how to get noticed on the highly saturated market. All of this will be accompanied by short samples of work from our guest speakers.

There will be a Q&A session after the panel talk and plenty of networking opportunities to connect and mingle. This topic might seem a bit niche, but visual content is playing a major part in our lives these days, from Netflix shows to music videos, Instagram stories, marketing and advertising. So even if you don’t know anything about filmmaking, come and learn from all the great women, broaden your horizons and get inspired on creative ideas. This is also a great opportunity to meet women outside your network and learn something new.

Agenda:
– 18:30 Snacks & Networking
– 19:00–19:10 – Presentation and two questions for Julie Zackova, head of Girls in Film Prague
– 19:10–20:00 – Panel talk with Pavla Kubeckova and Jay Walker
– 20:00–20:30 – Q&A
– 20:30–21:30 – Networking
