Creating meaningful educational experiences takes more than expertise it requires the confidence to turn knowledge into lasting impact. As the founder of Semínkovna, Klára Hrdá had spent years building communities, leading projects, and educating others about biodiversity and sustainability. When she decided to expand her work through online courses, she wanted to create learning experiences that were not only valuable but also financially sustainable. Through the Femme Palette mentoring program, she found a mentor who helped her rethink course design, strengthen her business strategy, and see her work through a new lens. Read her story to discover how mentoring transformed both her educational programs and the way she approaches entrepreneurship.
I’m the founder of Semínkovna, a Czech non-profit organization that promotes seed saving, biodiversity, and community education. Alongside leading the organization, I work in communications, project management, and adult education, developing educational programs and online courses.
When I joined the Femme Palette mentoring program, I was at an important transition point. I had many years of experience leading projects and building communities, but I was moving from organizing educational activities to creating a more sustainable educational business model through online courses and new learning formats.
I knew I had expertise and valuable content, but I wanted to transform it into learning experiences that would truly help people while also being financially sustainable. I was looking for someone who understood adult education, not only entrepreneurship.
Asena’s background in adult learning immediately stood out. I felt she would understand both the educational and strategic side of what I was trying to build.
My main goal was to improve the structure and methodology of my courses. I also wanted to better understand how to price educational products, how to communicate their value, and how to design a learning journey that would keep participants engaged.
Another important topic was learning how to protect my know-how while still creating valuable educational content.
Together, we significantly improved both the concept and structure of my courses. I redesigned parts of the educational content, refined the learning format, and became much more confident about pricing and selling my courses.
I’m especially proud that the changes were immediately practical. They weren’t just theoretical ideas—we implemented them directly into my educational programs, and they became much stronger as a result.
The mentoring gave me much greater confidence in my decisions. Instead of constantly questioning whether I was choosing the right direction, I learned to evaluate my ideas more strategically.
It also helped me start thinking not only as an educator but also as the creator of valuable intellectual property. That shift in mindset has influenced many decisions I’ve made since then.
One of the biggest breakthroughs was realizing that the value of a course isn’t just the information it contains. It’s the overall learning experience, the structure, the participant journey, and the transformation people achieve.
That insight completely changed how I design educational programs today.
What surprised me most was how practical every mentoring session was. We didn’t stay at the level of abstract discussions—we worked on real materials, improved specific parts of my courses, and solved actual business decisions together.
Having a mentor with deep expertise in adult education made the conversations incredibly relevant. It felt less like receiving advice and more like working with an experienced partner who genuinely helped move my work forward.
