The value of external mentorship

The event opened with a session by Lucie Neumanova, CEO and Co-founder of Femme Palette, who spoke on Mentorship Without Walls: The Benefits of External Guidance. Lucie highlighted the advantages of seeking mentors outside one’s organization, emphasizing the unique perspectives and unbiased insights that external mentors can provide. Attendees appreciated the approach, with many finding the concept of external mentorship refreshing for the new perspectives it can bring to talent development.

Practical applications of AI in L&D

Following Lucie’s session, Barbora Smejtek Školaudy, HR & Recruitment Consultant, presented AI in L&D: Practical Applications. In this talk, Barbora explored how AI is reshaping Learning & Development through data-driven personalization, continuous feedback, and predictive insights. “The AI part was useful,” one attendee shared, noting that the session offered practical applications of AI that could be implemented in L&D programs. This session highlighted how AI can create more tailored learning experiences, making training relevant and efficient.

Panel discussion: the future of learning

The panel discussion on The Future of Learning: 2025 and Beyond was a highlight of the evening. Moderated by Pavel Blaha from Femme Palette, the panel featured Peter Podprocký (Škoda Academy), Barbora Kosnarova (Direct Family), and Bob Flynn (Wrike). Together, they explored the trends and challenges shaping the future of L&D, including the integration of digital tools, prioritizing adaptability, and the growing demand for flexible, lifelong learning options. Attendees found the discussion candid and insightful, with one sharing their appreciation for the “honesty of Peter” and the energy of the panel. Each panelist shared strategies for preparing organizations for the evolving L&D landscape, offering practical insights that attendees could take back to their teams.

Building a learning culture

The final session by Simon Steffal, Founder of Mindset Mentors, focused on Building a Learning Culture. Simon outlined the essential elements of a learning culture, from leadership buy-in to fostering a growth mindset. His emphasis on aligning learning goals with business objectives resonated with attendees, who found his session both inspiring and practical. As one participant put it, “the last part was very inspirational,” capturing the motivational tone of Simon’s talk as he encouraged organizations to prioritize learning as a core business function.

An evening with lasting impact

The event concluded with a lively networking session where participants shared insights, swapped contacts, and explored potential collaborations. Many attendees expressed their appreciation for the community and networking opportunities, with one noting that “networking and community part was great as always.” Wrike’s modern office provided the perfect setting, with its focus on collaboration reflecting the event’s themes of innovation and forward-thinking.

Meaningful feedback: The key to higher engagement and better performance

According to research by Gallup, 80% of employees who received meaningful feedback in the past week are fully engaged at work. While regular performance reviews exist in most organisations, feedback is often underused or treated as a formal obligation rather than a strategic leadership tool. The connection is straightforward: higher engagement leads to higher productivity, and higher productivity supports stronger business performance.
